SA wakes up to near freezing temperatures

Freeze warning remains in effect until 9 a.m. Friday

SAN ANTONIO – An overnight chill brought even colder temperatures to the San Antonio area and Hill Country early Friday morning.

However, KSAT Weather Autority Meteorologist Mike Osterhage says the clouds hung around which means we have not gotten as cold as expected.

Mike says the Hill Country remained below freezing overnight as expected but San Antonio did not go below freezing and remained in the mid to low 30s.

The widespread freeze is occurring across the Hill Country and Central Texas.

There was still the possibility for a few locations farther south to reach the freezing mark by daybreak. A freeze warning remained in effect until 9 a.m. Friday.

Mike expects a high of around 52 and says it still looks a bit drizzly this weekend with slightly milder temperatures.
