Bexar County judge requests county manager to raise minimum wage

SAN ANTONIO – Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff wants to raise the pay for all county employees.

Wolff has asked County Manager David Smith, to look into the possibility of raising the minimum wage from $11 to $13 an hour.

A spokesperson for the county said Wolff has asked Smith to study the financial impact of raising the pay.

Smith is expected to report back to commissioners court in January.

Any changes to the pay scale would made during the budget process which go into effect at the start of the next fiscal year.
