SAN ANTONIO – Crews with San Antonio Water System responded to a sewer spill on the city's East Side.
The spill was caused by a collapsed pipe near Interstate 10 East, just west of Foster Road, SAWS spokeswoman Anne Hayden said in a statement.
The spill is estimated to be greater than 100,000 gallons and co-mingled with rainwater in a nearby creekbed.
Crews were able to contain the spill, by constructing a "temporary bypass pipeline to continue service until the collapsed sections can be repaired," Hayden said.
Hayden said repairs are expected to be completed on Friday.
