SAN ANTONIO – A pair of 18-year-olds are facing a charge of theft of a vehicle after a relative of one suspect told San Antonio police about the alleged crime.
Kaleb Adams and Julius Garcia were booked into the Bexar County Jail on Monday.
An arrest affidavit stated that the owner of a 2012 Jeep Wrangler had already reported the theft on Nov. 25.
It stated that on Sunday, Adams was confronted by his stepfather who heard about the alleged crime from Adams' 16-year-old sister. The stepfather then reported it to police.
The affidavit stated that he told investigators that Adams had parked the stolen vehicle in the parking lot of their Blanco Road apartment complex.
Detectives also interviewed Adams and said that he admitted he and Garcia stole the Jeep after they grew tired of walking.
They said he told them they spotted the vehicle parked on the street with the keys still inside and decided to take it, according to the affidavit.
