SAN ANTONIO – A suspect identified as Jacob Moreno, 28, is accused of breaking into a woman's car, stealing her credit cards and then using the cards at various stores.
The crime is detailed in an arrest warrant affidavit.
It stated that the woman reported the car burglary on Sept. 13, telling police that someone broke into her car while she was at Espada Park.
She told police that the criminal took several items from inside the car, including her credit cards, which were then used within an hour to make purchases at various businesses.
The affidavit stated that police obtained surveillance video from those stores and they showed Moreno as the person who was using the cards.
They said the video also captured the license plate number on the getaway car.
Investigators then used the number to track down the car owner, who is a friend of Moreno, the affidavit stated.
Moreno was arrested Monday on charges of vehicle burglary and credit card abuse.
