Arson investigates separate house fires

SAFD: Fires break out at separate homes, causes unknown

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Fire Department Arson Unit is investigating a pair of fires that broke out overnight.

Investigators said the first fire started outside a Northwest Side house in the 9200 block of Ridge Town around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Crews battled the fire for about half an hour before it was put out. Everyone inside got out safely, fire officials said.

A cause or damage estimates were not released.

About two hours later, San Antonio firefighters responded to another fire at a vacant home in the 500 block of Crestfield on the West Side. 

Fire officials said the home was boarded up at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. 

The arson unit is looking into a cause. Damage estimates were unknown.
