SAN ANTONIO – Wednesday Crime Stoppers, with the help of HEB donated 65,000 business cards with the number to the San Antonio police Department.
Officers will use the cards to write down case numbers for the public.
SAPD said anonymous tips called into Crime Stoppers can help them crack a lot of cases.
"There was a heinous murder committed on a via bus on Nov. 11 and on Nov. 12 Crime Stoppers received an anonymous tip," said Bodo Knochenhaur, Crime Stoppers President. "And within a week we were actually able to solve that murder."
Police want to assure the public all callers who call 224-STOP will remain anonymous.
