SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Food Bank received its largest produce donation in 31 years Wednesday.
Due to the annual Harvest from the Heart community event, the record donation came from farmers and produce vendors from across the country, including individual gardeners.
The food bank says it was a much needed gift, because produce is usually the most difficult food donation to procure.
Following a press conference, produce donations were made to 100 families from pre-K 4 S.A. West.
