Man hit, killed while crossing SA street

Driver stopped to render aid, then rammed from behind

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police have released the identity of a man hit and killed while crossing the street Thursday morning.

The victim has been identified as 47-year-old Dathan Woodrow Brown of San Antonio.

Investigators say Brown was attempting to cross the street in the 500 block of Bandera Road.

They say he was wearing dark clothing and not in a designated crosswalk.

Brown was struck by a gray Chevrolet truck.

The driver stopped after the collision and was rear ended by a maroon Toyota truck.

Brown was taken to University Hospital, where he later died.

It is not yet known if the driver will face charges.
