Border agents make multi-million dollar coke bust

Drug dog sniffs out large cocaine stash

FALFURRIAS, Texas – Border agents arrested a man and woman and took a large cocaine stash off South Texas streets this week.

The coke bust happened at the Falfurrias Border Patrol checkpoint on Highway 281 on Thursday.

The Border Patrol says a drug-sniffing dog alerted agents to the possible presence of drugs in a Nissan Sentra.

They say agents then conducted a search and found nearly 80 pounds of coke in 32 packets hidden in a secret compartment.

Agents took a man and woman into custody in connection with the drug smuggling.

The Border Patrol says the cocaine seized has a street value of more than $2.5 million.
