SAPD: Triggerman arrested in fatal road rage shooting

Brian Morales, 20, arrested in shooting death of Casey Blanton, 23, in August

SAN ANTONIO – A second suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal road rage shooting.

SAPD investigators believe 20-year-old Brian Morales shot and killed 23-year-old Casey Blanton back in August.

Police said the slaying was the result of a road rage incident on Loop 410 near Valley Hi Drive.

A few weeks ago, police arrested 18-year-old Adam Morales in connection with the case.

SAPD investigators said the two suspects are related and police originally thought Adam Morales was the shooter.

Officials received new information during the investigation that changed their mind.

"Someone within the vehicle, and it's believed that it was Brian Morales, actually fired a shot into the victim's vehicle, striking him in the head and he lost control of the vehicle, wrecked," said Sgt. Javier Salazar with SAPD.

Brian Morales was arrested early Friday morning. Police said he attempted to flee and put up a fight with officers as he was being taken into custody.

He was recently featured in a Crime Stoppers report and police say his arrest came through tips they received. SAPD officials said both men are charged with murder.
