Man arrested after police chase on Loop 410

SAPD patrol unit rear-ended in pursuit

SAN ANTONIO – The passenger riding in car that led police on a chase through Loop 410 between Callaghan and Soveriegn roads has been arrested.

It happened Sunday just after midnight on the city's Northwest Side.

Authorities said a Castle Hills police officer was making a routine traffic stop on Loop 410 west when that vehicle sped off.

The driver exited onto the Callaghan access road and side-swiped another vehicle.

Both the driver and the passenger abandoned the car and fled on foot.

The passenger was caught quickly but police are still searching for the driver.

A San Antonio police officer was called to assist in the pursuit but was rear-ended by another driver.

No one was injured.

There is no word on whether the passenger is expected to face charges.
