Victim taken to SAMMC after shooting on Kenmar Drive

SAN ANTONIO – A man was shot in what police are calling a drive-by shooting on the city's East Side overnight.

The incident happened at about 11:30 p.m. at a home in the 200 block of Kenmar Drive, investigators said.

Police say a man in his 40s was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition with two gunshot wounds to his upper chest.

Investigators said the victim was standing in front of his house with a child when a black Buick drove up. Someone inside then opened fire, police said.

Officers say there were several witnesses to the shooting and are now investigating a motive behind the shooting.
