SAPD: Burglary suspect stole surveillance cameras

Christopher Donaldson accused of hitting same apartment complex 3 times

SAN ANTONIO – Christopher Donaldson, 40, is facing multiple burglary and theft charges after allegedly targeting the same Northwest Side apartment complex on three different occasions.

San Antonio police said during one of the break-ins, Donaldson even stole the surveillance cameras that captured his crimes in action.

An arrest warrant affidavit stated that the burglaries happened in late September and October at the Walnut Hill Apartments on Babcock Road.

According to the affidavit, surveillance cameras captured Donaldson each time as he used a screwdriver to pry open the door on the apartment complex's fitness center, then stole items.

On at least one occasion, he also had an accomplice who can be seen in the surveillance video trying, unsuccessfully, to pull a TV off the wall, the affidavit stated.

Police said Donaldson also stole dumbbells from the gym as well as two surveillance cameras from the apartment complex's property.

The affidavit stated that detectives identified him as their suspect through social media.
