Woman killed in Christmas Day shooting

SAPD: Argument leads to fatal shooting in 4200 block of First View

SAN ANTONIO – Christmas morning turned deadly on the San Antonio's Northeast Side.

San Antonio police investigators said a woman was shot by her boyfriend during a Thursday morning altercation at their home in the 4200 block of First View.

During the argument the man pulled a gun and shot his girlfriend in the chest, investigators said.

Neither the victim or her boyfriend have been publicly identified, but police said the alleged shooter is confined to a wheelchair.

The woman was taken to University Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

San Antonio Police Sgt. Ramiro Juarez said the man responsible has a criminal past. Juarez said he and the victim were no strangers to his officers.

"He does have a couple felony convictions and a few of them do include weapon violations," Juarez said.

The shooting had nearby residents on alert.

"It's been crazy all morning," said Pam Newell. "It's a shame. (I'm) not even sure what happened."

Juarez said the man will be charged with murder.
