SAN ANTONIO – The man arrested and charged in the Christmas Day shooting death of 28-year-old Roxanne Sanchez has a history of criminal convictions.
Benjamin Poehlman, 31, was found by police with a gun in his hand Thursday morning after the shooting.
Police said Sanchez and Poehlman were involved in an argument inside a home in the 4300 block of First View Drive.
During the argument, Poehlman pulled a gun and shot Sanchez in the chest, investigators said.
Police said they found the alleged shooter, who is confined to a wheelchair, locked in a room with the victim.
Poehlman was arrested and charged with murder.
A public records check shows that Poehlman has prior convictions on drug and weapons charges.
