Driver killed in high-speed crash with tree

Driver lost control of vehicle on 1604 near Rogers Ranch

SAN ANTONIO – A driver died in a high-speed crash Monday evening on the North Side.

According to a preliminary SAPD report, witnesses saw the driver speeding westbound on the access road of 1604 near Rogers Ranch around 8:15 p.m.

The driver lost control of his vehicle and the vehicle went off the roadway and slammed into a tree.

The driver was wearing a seatbelt, but pronounced dead at the scene. The driver's name has not been released.
