SAPD: Botched drug deal leads to fatal shooting

Police: Man shot while trying to rob alleged drug dealer

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police believe a botched drug deal led to a fatal shooting late Monday night on the far Southwest Side.

Investigators believe the victim was one of three people who went to a home in the 5900 block of Stoney Ceek around 10:45 p.m. to buy drugs.

According to police, the man who was shot tried to turn on the alleged dealer and rob him, but the dealer shot him.

The injured man and two people who were with him ran out of the home and attempted to drive to Southwest General Hospital.

They got lost in the Indian Hills Subdivision and the wounded man passed away.

Police responded to the home on Stoney Creek and took a man in for questioning, but did not announce any arrests Tuesday morning.
