Father, his 2 teen children arrested after robbery

SAPD: Father, children stole phone, tried to steal rims on West Side

SAN ANTONIO – A chase for three robbery suspects turned into a family affair when a father and his two teen children were arrested early Wednesday morning

San Antonio police responded to a robbery around 12:30 a.m. on the West Side near W Commerce Street and Castroville Road.

Police said the thieves stole someone's phone and went to another location to try and steal rims off a vehicle.

The homeowner heard the suspects and fired a shot at their vehicle. The suspects were not hit and fled the scene in a silver Jeep, SAPD officials said.

Both victims gave police the same description of the suspect vehicle and the Jeep was spotted near Ruiz and N 27th streets.

SAPD's Eagle helicopter spotted the Jeep and police stopped the suspects behind Rosedale Park.

Officers determined the suspects were a man in his late 30s, his 15-year-old son and 14-year-old daughter.

SAPD officials have not announced what charges the trio would face.
