Flames engulf bus on I-35

2 people escape bus fire on Interstate 35

SAN ANTONIO – Two people escaped a passenger bus that caught fire on the Northeast Side early Wednesday morning.

The bus was headed southbound on Interstate 35 near O'Connor Road just after 1:30 a.m. when the trouble started.

The driver pulled over after smelling smoke. He and a passenger got off the bus just before it became engulfed in flames.

They were both treated for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.
