Spurs ride Duncan's miracle tip to overtime win

Spurs beat New Orleans Pelicans in OT 95-93

SAN ANTONIO – Tim Duncan's miracle tip-in got the Spurs to overtime, and Manu Ginobili finished the show.

The Spurs held on to beat the New Orleans Pelicans 95-93 and closed out a maddening December with a much-needed win.

The Spurs trailed the Pelicans by two with a mere .7 seconds between them and another December loss.

But Boris Diaw in-bounded the ball with a long lob to Duncan on the far side of the basket, and the future Hall of Famer came through with a stunning tip and a Pelicans player hanging all over him.

The Spurs mobbed Duncan after he tied the score and sent the game into overtime.

In the OT though things quickly went sour as the Pelicans built a six point lead.

But the Spurs battled back with two baskets by Manu, and took a one-point lead.

New Orleans had the ball and a chance to win, but missed a shot and fouled Duncan on the rebound.

Duncan made the first free-throw to put the Spurs up by two, then missed the second shot on purpose leaving New Orleans with only fractions of a second on the clock.

A lob attempt by the Pelicans to pull off a miracle tip of their own failed, and the Spurs escaped with the win.

San Antonio is now 20-14.

Ginobili finished with a game high 26 points.

Duncan finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds, tying Karl Malone for fifth place in career double-doubles with 814.
