SAN ANTONIO – A new year means a new role for Nico LaHood.
He was sworn in Thursday as the new Bexar County district attorney during a ceremony at the Cadena Reeves Justice Center.
LaHood said he has been preparing for the job and is ready to get to work.
"All the division chiefs have been working tirelessly these last few weeks. So we're ready to go into office tomorrow, get situated, then Monday we will be off running," said LaHood.
He defeated Susan Reed in the November election to take over the position.
LaHood said he will meet Friday with other assistant district attorneys during a meet and greet.
