4 arrested for shooting deer in New Braunfels

Officials: 2 adults, 2 juveniles shot 3 deer in city parks

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – Four people in New Braunfels were arrested by Texas game wardens, accused of hunting deer at night inside the city limits.

Eric Johnston, Anthony Castillo and two juveniles were arrested after they were pulled over by New Braunfels police, who were responding to call about shots fired.

Wardens were called in to assist, because police said they found three dead deer in the bed of the truck.

According to authorities, the group had been shooting at deer within city parks.

Officials said they had fired as many as 30 shots in Landa and Prince Solms parks.

Both men were taken to jail. The juveniles were released to their parents.
