Can you see the officer's radar?

If someone has told you that if you get pulled over for speeding, you have a right to see the radar - think again.

Officer Marcus Trujillo with the San Antonio Police Department explains.

"From time to time, this myth seems to surface again regarding speeding, radar equipment and the violator asking to see the actual radar unit itself. The myth as I've heard it many times before is if you get stopped, simply ask the officer to see the radar gun or the radar unit. That's completely false. Number one, it's not safe to pull a person out of the vehicle – especially on the highway – and to go back, it's just not tactically safe. It's not required by law."
