The victim was shot several times and may have known the shooter, San Antonio Police Chief Anthony Trevino said.

"This particular incident appears to be an isolated incident," Trevino said. "It doesn't appear to be a random act. So, it's not like people were just being gunned down in the street arbitrarily."

Neighbors told police they saw at least two men running from the scene.

Police conducted the search on foot and by helicopter but couldn't locate the men.

While the shooting happened near the school, it was not placed on lockdown because the shooting happened before school started.
