Veterans benefits fair set for Saturday

Texas Veterans Land Board free event for local vets

SAN ANTONIO – Retired and active duty military service members and the their families will able to get information on veteran benefits Saturday at a free benefits fair.

The Texas Veterans Land Board will host the free event for local vets to learn more about land, housing and home improvement loans.

Texas vets now have more money available to them when applying for a loan.

Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush recently approved a 20 percent increase in the maximum land loan for veterans, bringing it up to $125,000.

San Antonio veterans will also be able to learn more about disability and pension claims; employment and education; veterans cemeteries and nursing homes; and call center services.

The free benefits fair starts Saturday at 10 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. at the Frank Tejada Outpatient Clinic at 5788 Eckhert Road, near Babcock Road.
