Man critical after overnight shooting

SAN ANTONIO – A man who was shot overnight is listed in critical condition after emergency surgery at San Antonio Military Medical Center.

San Antonio police investigators said they're getting conflicting stories about what happened, but did said that a 20-year-old man was inside a car with a few other people around 1:15 a.m., possibly near the Iron Horse Valley apartments on Northeast Loop 410 near Starcrest, when someone fired shots at the car.

The man was hit by several shotgun pellets, which left wounds from his thigh to his chest. He was driven to Northeast Baptist hospital, then taken to SAMMC for surgery.

The driver took off, but a woman was taken in for questioning.
