Man survives stabbing on far West Side

SAN ANTONIO – A man was fighting for his life at University Hospital Thursday afternoon after being stabbed multiple times at a far West Side apartment.

Police the man man got into a confrontation with another man at the Doral Club apartments at 7750 Culebra. They say that's where two men in their mid-20s got into an argument just before 6:30 a.m. Thursday.

When police and EMS got to the complex, they found both men lying on the patio entrance. One man was severely wounded with multiple stab wounds and was immediately taken to an area hospital.

Police say the other young man was lying next to the injured victim, also covered in blood. Investigators say it was unclear whether he was injured or not but he was also taken to the hosptial.

Investigators believe that man is the person who stabbed the victim in the chest and stomach.

"It's still under investigation. The homicide detectives are at the hospital are looking into this and speaking with witnesses but at this point we believe he is going to be the suspect, " said San Antonio Police Sgt. Lawrence Walters.

If detectives find enough evidence to charge him with the stabbing and the hospital releases him, he will be arrested immediately.

Meanwhile, the victim, who lives at the apartment complex, will remain at University Hosptial, fighting life-threatening injuries. ​
