West Side crash injures 6

SAN ANTONIO – A two-vehicle crash on the city's West Side left one passenger with life-threatening injuries and five others hospitalized.

The crash happened around 6 p.m. at Culebra Toad near Avenue G.

San Antonio police investigators said a purple Scion was driving east and swerved into the westbound lanes.

A Mustang driving the opposite direction saw the Scion and tried to avoid the driver, but the two vehicles crashed head-on.

The passenger inside the Scion was taken to University hospital. The driver suffered minor injuries but was also hospitalized.

The people inside the Mustang were also taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Police discovered alcohol containers inside the Scion but said they are unsure how long they had been there.
