SAPD detective assaulted while dropping off child at school

SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio Police Department detective was involved in a physical altercation with a motorist early Tuesday morning.

SAPD officials said the detective was dropping his child off at school in the 600 block of E.Hildebrand Avenue when he got into an argument with the motorist.

The two men got into a physical confrontation and the detective was assaulted, SAPD officials said.

SAPD officials said the detective was not in uniform at the time of the incident. He was not transported to the hospital.

The other motorist was taken into custody. Charges of assault were pending, SAPD officials said.
