SAN ANTONIO – Former Rep. Charlie Gonzalez announced Tuesday evening he will be leaving VIA.
The board and VIA employees were notified that Gonzalez's last day will be April 6.
Gonzalez said he is leaving to do mediation and consultant work.
Before he went to Washington, D.C., Gonzalez was a municipal, county and district court judge.
He retired from the U.S. House of Representatives in 2012, and has been working at VIA as their senior adviser for external affairs.
