KSAT will host a phone bank Monday for National Crime Victims' Rights Week in Bexar County. The phone bank will be held from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.

It's an opportunity for people who are victims of crime or know someone who has been victimized to get help for themselves or their loved ones. The number to call is (210) 351-1363.

Each April, the Office for Victims of Crime helps lead communities throughout the country in their annual observance of Nation Crime Victims' Rights Week which is observed April 19-25.

This year's theme, Engaging Communities, Empowering Victims, emphasizes the role of the entire community, individually and collectively, as we support victims of crime and empower them to direct their own recovery.

Locally, tens of thousands of crimes are committed each year. Last year the Bexar County District Attorney's Office assisted over 20,000 victims and witnesses.

If you believe you are a victim of crime, please report it to your nearest law enforcement agency.

For information or status of a case filed with the Bexar County District Attorney's Office, please call (210) 335-2311.
