SAWS said work was completed in the area of Stone Oak's Sonterra Road Sunday and water pressure has returned to normal.

STORY:

San Antonio Water Sysytem crews will work through Saturday night into Sunday to repair a water main critical to service in the Sonterra Road area.

SAWS officials said the water main that runs along 281 southbound has developed a leak and requires immediate repair. A temporary patch has been used until crews can remove the main from service to permanently repair it.

The area will have reduced water pressure overnight Saturday due to the repairs between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. SAWS officials said no businesses or residences should be left without access to water, but reduced pressure should be expected.

A number of businesses along Sonterra Road will be affected, including Methodist Hospital at Stone Oak, several office buildings, apartment complexes and a nearby residential area. Services at Methodist Hospital will not be interrupted.

SAWS is communicating directly with businesses that could be affected by the work on the water main. The repairs are being timed to minimize impacts to businesses and residents in the area.
