Heavy storms move through SA, more expected throughout week

SAN ANTONIO – Heavy storms with thunder and lightning moved through the San Antonio area early Monday morning and more are in the forecast for the week.

A thunderstorm watch was in effect for parts of South Texas until midnight Sunday.

KSAT Weather Authority Mike Osterhage says those storms continue to move east and things are settling down in behind.

The storms produced some heavy rainfall and fog. The Olmos Basin Gates have been closed Monday due to the rainfall.

Mike says the rest of the day is expected to be partly sunny with a high around 83, but another shower or thunderstorm can't be ruled out this afternoon in the San Antonio area.

The National Weather Service says isolated thunderstorms could approach severe levels Monday afternoon and evening mainly north of a line from Rocksprings to Fredericksburg to Georgetown.

Mike says scattered showers and storms are possible every day this week with the exception of Wednesday.
