SAPD investigating body found on South Side

Woman's body found Wednesday in 4400 block of South Presa

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found Wednesday afternoon on the South Side.

Police said the badly decomposed body was found by a passerby in the 4400 block of South Presa.

Investigators said the woman's body had been there for some time and there was evidence of trauma to her head and face.

Police investigators are looking into several missing persons cases from the area to see if they might be connected.

"We've got missing persons cases that are tied to this general area and so, again, I wouldn't want to speculate who it might be out of respect for the family and respect for the person, and so were going to wait for the Medical Examiner to make that determination," said San Antonio Police Sgt. Javier Salazar.

Residents said that another woman disappeared under similar circumstances from the same area two weeks ago.

That woman was found severely beaten and strangled, but still alive.

She's still in the hospital and might not survive.
