City Council OKs improvements to Ray Ellison Boulevard

2-mile stretch to be widened to 4 lanes

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio City Council approved a construction contract to make improvement on Ray Ellison Boulevard.

Improvements on the road will include widening a two-mile stretch of Ray Ellison to four lanes from Loop 410 to Pearsall Road.

Drainage and traffic signal improvements will also be made.

The total cost of the project is more than $22 million. 

Construction will begin this month and should be completed by March 2017.
