SAN ANTONIO – A man was shot by his ex-girlfriend Thursday in the 200 block of Paramount Avenue.
Police said the man was intoxicated when he arrived at his ex-girlfriend's home around 7 p.m. and began banging on her door.
The man's ex-girlfriend pulled a gun and asked him to leave when she claims the gun accidentally went off.
The man was rushed to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators are working to verify the woman's story.
"We are going to take some witnesses downtown. They are going to interview them separately and put everything together, look at the crime scene, and they are picking up evidence right now and taking pictures," San Antonio Police Department Lt. Jerry Villarreal said.
Police said pending an investigation, the woman could face a possible aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge.
