Police seek driver who hit man, granddaughter before fleeing


SAN ANTONIO – Police are searching for a person who crashed into a 69-year-old man and his 2-year-old granddaughter and left the scene.

Police saidGeorge Jimenez was pushing his granddaughter in a stroller near the entrance to Golden Park at 7800 Somerset Road on May 14 when a silver 2001 Hyundai Accent (similar to image below) drove up onto the curb and struck them.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, the driver of the car left the scene of the crash without rendering aid to the victims.

Jimenez and his granddaughter were taken to nearby hospitals. Their conditions are unknown.

Witnesses told police the license plate number of the vehicle was BB7R044. The vehicle may be missing the rear bumper.
