Tornado Warning for Blanco County

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for south central Blanco County until 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

At 11:46 a.m., a confirmed tornado was located over Twin Sisters near Blanco moving north at 5 mph.

Hazard: Camaging tornado and quarter size hail. 

Source: Emergency Management confirmed tornado just east of Highway 281 near Little Blanco Road. 

Impact: Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. 

The tornado will be near Blanco and Payton around 12:30 p.m 

Precautionary/preparedness actions: A tornado is on the ground. Take cover now! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. 

If you are outdoors, in a mobile home or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
