Animal rescue groups recovering from flood damage

SEGUIN, Texas – The weekend weather has cleared out, but the damage left behind by the rain and the high water is still being felt.

"Two days ago it was 4 to 5 inches deep," said Etosha Rescue And Adoption Center Director Bonney Williams.

Williams said the center is dealing with flooded kennels, broken fences and animals who need medical attention.

"It's full of bacteria, (mosquitoes), and all kinds of stuff these dogs don't need to be in," said Williams.

Williams cares for 132 dogs and three cats. She's been rescuing dogs for more than 30 years.

"I don't know, I figure someone's got to do it," Williams said.

Williams wants to make improvement and keep her dogs safe but doesn't have the means to do it.

"I would really appreciate donations to help us buy materials," she said. "(We need) sand, gravel and road base to put down because more rain is coming,"
