SAN MARCOS, Texas – Hays County officials have identified the body of a man found Sunday in northern San Marcos and recovered the body of a boy from the Blanco River in rural Hays County.

The identification of Thomas lowers the number of people from Hays County officially listed as missing to eight, according to a statement issued Wednesday evening by the city of San Marcos.

The male child's body was recovered from the banks of the Blanco River near Water Park Road. As of Wednesday evening, his name or age had not been released.

According to the statement, Hays County officials had not yet determined whether the boy is someone on the county's list of missing flood victims or is someone who has thus far gone unreported.
