SA brothers ages 10, 14, die in beach drowning

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Two brothers from San Antonio died in a Corpus Christi hospital after an apparent beach drowning.

According to KRISTV.com in Corpus Christi, the boys were alive when they were pulled from the surf when they washed ashore Sunday by their father, an uncle and a bystander.

The victims, Adrian Torres, 10, and Eric Torres, 14, were taken by ambulance to a hospital, but the ambulance broke down on the way, the report stated. Another ambulance ended up taking the brothers to a hospital.

The brothers died at Driscoll Children's Hospital, the report stated.

San Antonio Independent School District spokeswoman Leslie Price said one brother went to Poe Middle School; the other to Smith Elementary.
