Border Patrol seizes $1.3M worth of meth
Drugs hidden in door panels of vehicle
SARITA, Texas – Border Patrol agents seized 41 pounds of methamphetamine Sunday at the Sarita checkpoint.
Officials said a woman approached the primary lane of the checkpoint when a K-9 alerted agents to the possibility of drugs in a Mazda Tribute. A search of the vehicle revealed 16 bundles of the drug concealed in the vehicle's door panels.
The seizure had an estimated street value of more than $1.3 million.
The driver was taken into federal custody.
