Central American immigrants detained in Mexico


SAN ANTONIO – A large number of migrants, among them 30 children, were detained in Southern Mexico.

The migrants were from Central America and were handed over to Mexico's National Migration Institute on Monday.

Police said the migrants had been traveling for two weeks by bus before they were detained along Mexico's southern border with Guatemala.

Another 41 migrants were found abandoned in the back of a truck in the same state.

According to officials, the youngest of the migrants was 10 months old. They will be processed in Mexico before being deported.
