According to Bexar County sheriff's deputies, Czar was driving a maroon Toyota that collided head-on with a white pickup truck around 7 a.m.

Bexar County sheriff's deputies said Czar was headed east on I-10 when he lost control, drove through the median and struck the truck, causing it to catch fire.

The driver of the pickup was pulled out of the truck and transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Sheriff's deputies said the Toyota also struck another truck after the initial crash.

The driver of the second truck and his passengers suffered minor injuries.

The wreck shut down the interstate for hours and backed up traffic for miles.
