GateOne debuts at Stinson Airport

SAN ANTONIO – In operation for 100 years, Stinson Municipal Airport opened its latest upgrade Monday -- GateOne.

GateOne is a full-service, fixed-base operator that will serve general and private aircraft. The new gate features a waiting area and lounge for travelers.

Airport officials said travelers can expect a level of service seen at bigger airports but without the traffic that comes with the larger airlines.

They said they're seeing a growing need in their South Side location.

"We're seeing the growth coming out of South Side San Antonio. It's much-needed at Stinson. So we're hoping to entice more of the flying public to come to Stinson," Imperial Aviation LLC CEO Thomas Matthew said.

GateOne currently operates from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with those hours expected to be expanded.
