SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio man awaits his punishment after pleading guilty to a string of bank robberies along the Interstate 35 corridor.
Willie James Cleveland, 34, pleaded guilty to two counts of bank robbery with a dangerous weapon.

With his plea, Cleveland admitted he robbed nine banks between February and the end of April.
The total stolen from all nine robberies was more than $50,000.
Cleveland will have to pay back the money and faces up to 25 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine for each robbery count.
