Fugitive on Bexar most wanted list captured

Evan Ray Rodriguez, 20, charged with aggravated robbery

SAN ANTONIO – A South Side man whose name appeared on the Bexar County's sheriff's list of most wanted fugitives has been arrested.

Records show Evan Ray Rodriguez, 20, was arrested Monday on a charge of aggravated robbery.

An arrest affidavit details the case, which was investigated by San Antonio police in December.

The affidavit stated a 20-year-old man told police that he had been drinking with Rodriguez and a second suspect on the night of Dec. 11.

He said the next morning, both men again showed up at the door of his South Side home and pushed their way inside when he opened it to them.

The affidavit stated that Rodriguez and the other man, along with two additional men, punched and beat the victim with the butt of a shotgun until he was unconscious.

The victim told police that when he awakened, he realized he had been robbed of his television and other property.

Police obtained a warrant for Rodriguez's arrest a few days later.

At some point after that, his name was added to the sheriff's most wanted list.

Although the charges listed there include aggravated robbery and deadly conduct, Rodriguez, so far, is charged only with aggravated robbery.
