Girl's outcry leads to suspect's arrest in sex case

Joselito Garza, 42, accused of sexually assaulting girl, 13

SAN ANTONIO – A 13-year-old girl's outcry led to the arrest of East Side resident Joselito Garza, 42, on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

According to an arrest affidavit, the girl first told a neighbor about the assault, then spoke with San Antonio police investigators on June 11.

The affidavit stated that she told investigators that Garza first approached her when she was 12, and made her watch him have sex with someone else.

The girl said later he touched her inappropriately and forced her to perform a sex act with him, the affidavit stated.

She also told police that Garza had offered her $200 to let him have sex with her on her 13th birthday, the affidavit stated.

Police said they also questioned Garza who confessed. He was arrested Monday on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
