Woman killed in suspected DWI crash identified

SAN ANTONIO – The victim of a suspected drunken driving crash over the weekend on the Northeast Side was identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office as 22-year-old Emily McLaughlin. 

San Antonio police said the wreck was reported early Sunday morning on the Interstate 35 access road near Toepperwein Road after a man in a pickup T-boned a car while driving south on the access road. 

McLaughlin was sitting in the car's passenger seat. She was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

The driver of the car was taken to the San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition. 

The driver of the truck was arrested and charged with intoxication assault and intoxication manslaughter, police said.
